The Henry Havermeyer Residence, Fifth Avenue, New York City, NY.

One of the lesser known Fifth Avenue mansions is the Havermeyer mansion, once located on Fifth Avenue & 66th Street, New York City. From the exterior it isn’t as impressive as many of the other great mansions along Fifth Avenue, but it was the interiors that were a big surprise. Louis Tiffany was given a free hand to do exotic and shimmering spaces, with the use of stained glass, mosaics, and vibrant colors. The interior seen here of the staircase was partially constructed with crystal. The Havermeyer family while as wealthy as the more well known names of the Gilded Age such as Astor, Vanderbilt, Gould & Whitney lived in quiet splendor among the many masterpieces of art they collected and displayed in the house. I recommend visiting this link here, http://daytoninmanhattan.blogspot.com/.../the-lost-h-o... for a complete story and also recommend this book here with beautiful illustrations of their art and home. https://amzn.to/3IUAysO
